Bergbahnen.org is a project that lives from the active participation of a large number of people interested in ropeways. Everyone can join our community and actively contribute to the content of the website. Whether it's reports on ropeways, ski resorts and technology, information on long-forgotten ropeway relics from long ago or current developments in ropeway construction - we are happy to receive new content and information. You are welcome to join our community!
To get access to the design possibilities, you can easily register as a member. The registration is free of charge and completed within a few minutes. Afterwards you have the possibility to post articles and topics in the forum, to access internal areas and to complete the ropeway database with new installations, technical details or photos. In addition, we offer registered members many individual customization options for the website, a customizable list of favorites of ropeways, free webspace for uploading photos in the forum and many other benefits.
Contributing to the ropeway database
Our ropeway database contains over 5,000 entries from Switzerland and Germany. An extensive reference and information archive that requires constant maintenance. With so many ropeway installations, it is often difficult to keep them all up to date. We try to update the information continuously, but we don't always learn about planned construction projects or closures in time. That's why we need your help! Do you have a correction suggestion or can you contribute additional information? As a registered user you have the possibility to update and complete the entries in the database at any time.
We are also happy to receive additional photographic material. For example, more than 90% of the installations currently in operation in Switzerland have already been photographed, but it is very difficult to find royalty-free images of old ropeways that have been shut down or replaced many years ago. Also for the ropeways in Germany, we are still missing pictures for many installations. If you have your own photos of the ropeways in question, we would be very happy if you could provide us with them!

Contributing to the discussion board
In our discussion board it's all about ropeways. Current and future construction projects, discussions about technical details of ropeways or the history of ski resorts and constructors are as much a part of the forum as personal reports on ropeway technology and trips to the mountains, ski resorts or exciting ropeway installations.
